What Saltwater Actually Changes

What Saltwater Actually Changes

A saltwater pool is still a chlorine pool. The difference is that a salt cell generates chlorine on site instead of you adding it. The water feels softer, there is less handling of chemicals, and many people prefer how it swims. What it does not do is remove the need for service. The cell makes chlorine — it does not manage pH, alkalinity, stabiliser or hardness, and in Jacksonville's hard water it scales up and loses output.

Is Converting Worth It?

Is Converting Worth It?

Sometimes yes, sometimes no, and we will tell you which. Conversion makes most sense on a pool that is swum often, where the equipment is in good condition and the owner is tired of handling chlorine. It makes least sense on a pool with ageing equipment or an existing scale problem — you would be adding a component that suffers in exactly those conditions. We would rather talk you out of a conversion than sell you one that disappoints.

Common Questions

Yes. Saltwater pools still need weekly chemistry checks — a salt cell generates chlorine, it does not manage pH, alkalinity or stabiliser, and cells scale up in our hard water. We service saltwater systems and replace cells when they reach end of life.
Skim the surface, brush walls and steps, vacuum as needed, empty skimmer and pump baskets, test and balance chlorine, pH, alkalinity and stabiliser, check the filter pressure, and confirm equipment is running properly. You get a service note after every visit so you know exactly what was done.
Most Jacksonville residential pools fall between $120 and $190 per month for weekly service, depending on pool size, whether you have a screen enclosure, and how much tree cover surrounds the deck. That price includes chemicals. We quote a firm monthly number after seeing the pool — we do not do teaser rates that climb after the first invoice.
Yes, fully licensed and insured, and we carry coverage for work performed on your property. We are part of the We Surv Jacksonville family of home service companies, which is why you will see the WSJ mark on our vehicles and paperwork.

What Our Customers Say

★★★★★

"Our pool had been neglected for most of a summer and was properly green. Clean & Clear had it swimmable in four days and it has stayed clear ever since. The weekly notes are a small thing but I love knowing what was actually done."

★★★★★

"Switched over after our old company kept missing weeks and blaming the weather. Six months in, not one missed visit. The pH has been steady the entire time, which it never was before."

M

★★★★★

"They found a cracked pump seal during a routine visit before it turned into a flooded pad. Fixed it same week for a fair price. That is the kind of thing you only catch if someone is actually looking."
